; September 16, 1947 - October 7, 1984) was a poet, journalist, translator, and member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group. His grandfather, Mykhaylo Marchenko, was the first Soviet dean of the University of Lviv.He translated into Ukrainian from Azerbaijani and Polish.On October 23, 1983, Marchenko was arrested a second time and again charged with Article 62 of the Soviet penal code, Anti-Soviet Agitation and Propaganda.Marchenko was declared a dangerous offender, and was sentenced to ten years imprisonment and five years of exile.
